Young Lions 2026 Pre-Competition Training Decks & Recordings

As Canada’s Official Representative to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity since 2005, The Globe and Mail has proudly championed Canadian talent and creativity on the world stage for over 20 years. Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity remains the industry’s most recognized global benchmark for creative and marketing excellence, celebrating breakthrough work from nearly 100 countries. Young Lions reflects that same international standard — spotlighting emerging talent and the next generation of industry leaders.

As part of that commitment, The Globe has been hosting pre-competition training sessions across Media, Marketers, PR, Digital and Design to help you, the competitors, feel confident and competition-ready. While each session is tailored to its category, the insights, advice and creative inspiration shared extend well beyond a single discipline.

We’re pleased to share the presentation decks and recordings with these five competition categories — supporting Canadian marketers and creatives as they compete, grow and gain recognition on the global stage.

Training Session Introductions

Marcin Zerek, Head of Trade Marketing at The Globe and Mail, kicked off each session by sharing details and stats about the competition, along with the new AI guidelines for 2026. He also highlighted how Canada ranks #3 overall globally for Young Lion medals.
